Supplemental Employee Retirement Plan (SERP)

Attention all certificated, classified and management employees: 
The Board of Education has requested that we conduct a survey to determine interest in a Supplemental Employee Retirement Plan (SERP) for 2010. We encourage employees to carefully read and consider the attached information.  Because of our timeline, meeting all deadlines is extremely important.  Please direct your questions to Fiscal Services at 580-5000 x 6605. 

Textbooks Online

Grades 9-12
Motivating!  Interactive!   Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra 2 online textbooks. Students, log in to Holt Online Learning to access the Online Editions of their textbooks.  Parents, log in to Think Central to access Homework Help or Parent Resources online. 
Grades 7-8
Improving California Mathematics...one student at a time!  Access the online editions of CGP's 7th Grade Mathematics and 8th Grade Algebra textbooks.  

Committee Members Needed

CJUSD values parent and community members as shared decision makers for our youth’s educational program.  The following committees are seeking members from the community.

High School Health Curriculum
 is looking for parent/ community volunteers to provide guidance, feedback, and perspective. The committee will meet approximately 6 times between November 2009 and April 2010 and make a recommendation to the Board of Education in May, 2010. If you are interested in joining this committee, contact John Conboy (909) 580-6544.  Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 16th, at 6:00 p.m. in building "M" of the District Office at 1212 Valencia Drive, Colton 92324.

District Graduation Requirement Committee will be looking at the courses we require, state requirements, college readiness, career readiness, and the total number of units required to graduate. The committee will meet 3 times between November 2009 and February 2010.  Community meetings are in the evenings. If you are interested in joining this committee, contact Eden Andom (909) 580-6542.  Our next meeting is Monday, February 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the in the Board Room at 850 S. Mt. Vernon, Colton 92324. 

Construction to Start on New High School
High School #3 at Taylor and Main in Grand Terrace now is named Grand Terrace High School at the Ray Abril, Jr., Educational Complex. We are very excited about the progress we are making toward opening this school and we are looking forward to the work before us in the coming years. The district’s long-awaited third high school is scheduled to open in the Fall 2011.  For more information.

Educational Partner Award
The Employee Recognition Committee is extending the criteria for nominations in recognition of outstanding service to the District. The Educational Partner Award allows for organizations, service groups, volunteers or committee members to be nominated and honored at a board meeting.
